Necessary and relevant hardware to work with KUKA IIWA

In order to setup a KUKA LBR IIWA there are several hardware required.

Absolutely Necessary Hardware:

  1. KUKA IIWA 7/14/Med variant manipulator

  2. KUKA Sunrise Cabinet

  3. KUKA SmartPAD teach pendant

  4. Connecting cables for robot arm and controller

  5. D-Sub Standard connectors 50 Pin to enable robot modes through X11 port

  6. A laptop capable of running Rhino Grasshopper with KUKA PRC, Sunrise Workbench and KUKA Workvisual

  7. CAT5 cable

Optional Hardware:

  1. A router with at least 2 Ethernet ports

  2. Quick Release mount

  3. Necessary cables for sensor output. Usually supplied with the robot based on the Media Flange type. In this case M12 cable from Phoenix Contact.
